It’s that time again… time to wrap up winter projects, time to reopen our motel to many visitors, time to welcome folks from all over the world to our tiny little town for the summer.
Our 4 new rooms (listed as “The Annex”) should be completed by June 1st, and we’re very excited about completing them. These rooms will feature fireplaces, all custom, locally made wood furniture and trim in Cherry and Alder, anywhere from 250-450 sq ft, warmfloor in the bathrooms, ceiling fans/A/C and great natural light. There is still finish work to be done, and we’ll post pictures as that project wraps up.
We’ve made improvements to our existing rooms as well, replacing a few more vanities, new toilets in all rooms (exciting stuff, I know), refinishing a few walls and ceilings for better sound performance, replaced a bit more furniture, replaced a sidewalk with a ramp for better lobby access, repaved the parking lot, and painted the exterior. (There’s probably more, but January (when we start offseason projects) seems like an eternity ago!)
Summer represents a different kind of busy for us, because there are always 17 rooms (and now 20, with our new units) of vacationers staying here who we try to help make the most of their time. It’s being up for continental breakfast at 7am, opening the hot tub for an evening soak at 8pm, or turning on the firepit at 9pm for a relaxing wind down after a long day – oh, and TONS of trail, restaurant, and scenic vista recommendations in between!
We wouldn’t have it any other way, and hope that if you make your way to Estes Park this summer you stay with us.
